Stairwell Steward was a Third Class Steward in the 1997 film Titanic.
Appearance[]
The Steward was tall, white male. He had short dark hair and gray eyes. During his appearances in the film, he wore a standard white 3rd class steward's tunic.
Biography[]
His main appearance in the James Cameron film is trying to unlock the gate where Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater are trapped behind. Clearly in a state of panic, he drops the keys and makes a run for it. Fortunately, Jack is able to grab the fallen keys and unlock the gate so he and Rose can escape. The steward is at hand when Collapsible B lands upside down and is able to survive on the upturned boat.
Trivia[]
- His keys read: "E - 2nd CL STEWARDS".
- His survival on Collapsible B makes him a possible fictional adaptation of Sidney Edward Daniels, an 18 year old Third Class steward who survived the sinking. Sid was the last surviving Titanic crewmember, he died on May 25th, 1983.
