During the sinking, he takes over the firing of the rockets after Joseph Boxhall leaves the Titanic in Lifeboat #2. He tries to stop Caledon Hockley and Spicer Lovejoy from going through the bridge when Spicer tells Cal that Rose and Jack are at Collapsible D.
